Presentation
IBEROJUR – the Ibero-American Institute of Legal Studies – aims, in an innovative way, to fill a gap in legal and scientific relations between Ibero-American countries, and its main mission is to strengthen relations between professionals and academics from these countries, promoting the joint development of legal studies in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
Ignatianum University in Kraków and European University of Law and Administration in Warsaw (Poland), in cooperation with the Iberoamerican Institute of Legal Studies – IBEROJUR (Portugal), invites you to the 2ND International Conference on EcoJustice: Law in the Age of Sustainability. This time we would like to focus on the Procedural Guarantees in Contemporary National and International Adjudication.
This event will foster an international and interdisciplinary dialogue on sustainability, addressing its intersection with law, economics, management, ecology, technology, and policy-making with a particular focus on the procedural guarantees of the parties in proceedings before national and international courts.
Procedural guarantees for parties in court proceedings are a highly controversial issue, as they pertain to the situation of parties appearing before various national and international courts. This involves the rights and obligations of the parties, which often influence the final outcome of the proceedings. Procedural guarantees may stem from both national and international regulations and apply to all types of proceedings: civil, criminal, administrative, etc.
The scope of the conference is broad enough to cover not only proceedings before national judicial bodies but also all types of international courts, including, in particular, disputes arising from cross-border conflicts. Examples of this include transport law and maritime law. Often, these conflicts (depending on their level) can affect the security of legal transactions and the exchange of goods and services on both the micro and macro levels. It would therefore be extremely valuable to discuss the legal solutions in this area that are in place in various countries.
The preliminary plan is to hold the first day of the event in person and online in Kraków, and the second day in Warsaw. We therefore invite you to submit a proposal for a presentation on a topic related to this issue. The exchange of international experiences will undoubtedly contribute to a lively discussion in these areas.

O IBEROJUR- Instituto Iberoamericano de Estudos Jurídicos – visa, de forma inovadora, colmatar uma lacuna nas relações jurídico-científicas entre os países ibero-americanos, e tem como missão principal o estreitamento das relações de profissionais e académicas desses países, promovendo o desenvolvimento conjunto dos estudos jurídicos em línguas portuguesa, espanhola e inglesa.
A Universidade Inaciana de Cracóvia e a Universidade Europeia de Direito e Administração de Varsóvia (Polónia), em cooperação com o Instituto Ibero-americano de Estudos Jurídicos – IBEROJUR (Portugal), convidam a comunidade académica internacional a participar da 2ª Conferência Internacional sobre Ecojustiça: Direito na Era da Sustentabilidade. Desta vez, o tema central será nas Garantias Processuais na Adjudicação Nacional e Internacional Contemporânea.
Este evento promoverá um diálogo internacional e interdisciplinar sobre sustentabilidade, abordando sua interseção com o direito, a economia, a gestão, a ecologia, a tecnologia e a formulação de políticas, com ênfase nas garantias processuais das partes em processos perante tribunais nacionais e internacionais.
As garantias processuais para as partes em processos judiciais são um tema bastante controverso, pois dizem respeito à situação das partes que comparecem perante diversos tribunais nacionais e internacionais. Isso envolve os direitos e obrigações das partes, que frequentemente influenciam o resultado final do processo. As garantias processuais podem derivar tanto de regulamentações nacionais quanto internacionais e aplicam-se a todos os tipos de processos: cíveis, criminais, administrativos, etc.
As profundas mudanças tecnológicas, económicas, sociais, ambientais e geopolíticas verificadas nas últimas décadas têm colocado os sistemas jurídicos perante desafios que ultrapassam as fronteiras dos Estados e os limites tradicionais das disciplinas jurídicas. A inteligência artificial, a transformação digital, as novas formas de organização económica, a crescente circulação transnacional de dados, capitais e pessoas, a emergência climática e a necessidade de proteção dos direitos fundamentais exigem respostas jurídicas inovadoras, responsáveis e democraticamente legitimadas.
Neste contexto, a governança assume uma importância central. A produção e a aplicação do Direito já não dependem exclusivamente da atuação estatal, envolvendo também organizações internacionais, empresas, plataformas digitais, entidades reguladoras, instituições científicas e diferentes atores da sociedade civil. Formam-se, assim, estruturas complexas de regulação, cooperação e tomada de decisões, nas quais se combinam normas nacionais, internacionais e transnacionais, mecanismos de autorregulação, instrumentos de soft law e novas tecnologias regulatórias.
A inovação, por sua vez, não deve ser compreendida apenas como desenvolvimento tecnológico. Ela abrange igualmente a modernização das instituições, a criação de novos instrumentos jurídicos, o aperfeiçoamento das políticas públicas, a democratização do acesso à justiça e a construção de modelos de desenvolvimento económica, social e ambientalmente sustentáveis.
O evento aceitará trabalhos científicos vinculados às áreas temáticas definidas pela Comissão Organizadora (abaixo), proporcionando aos participantes a oportunidade de apresentar e debater os resultados das suas investigações perante uma comunidade académica internacional.

[EN] The organization will publish the approved and submitted articles in two publications:
a) Articles written in English will be published in the European Review of Law and International Relations (No. 3/27) – Warsaw, Poland.
b) Articles written in Portuguese and Spanish will be published as an e-book with a European ISBN, registered with the National Library of Portugal, and indexed in Portuguese and Spanish scientific repositories. Crossref DOI number.
Presentations may be delivered in Polish, English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.
